ABOUT

Skylark is a one of a kind, heritage inspired, soft-top Defender 90 that has been restored to a very high standard –  the quality of this vehicle is simply outstanding, inside and out!  She represents a very unique opportunity to acquire a simply stunning and collectible, heritage style Defender 90 which you could use and enjoy everyday. 

ON THE ROAD

Skylark is powered by the well revered 2.5L 200TDI Turbo Diesel engine, mated to a 5-Speed Lt77 Transmission and 2-Speed LT230 Transfer Box. The original 200TDI has only covered 144k miles and is running very smoothly with little to no smoke on start up or under load. She comes fully serviced with all new fluids, filters and oils. Both the Lt77 Transmission and Lt230 Transfer box are shifting well and present no faults. A brand new LOFT Clutch kit has also been fitted, making shifting gears a pleasure when out on the road.

Skylark rides well too, thanks to all new suspension throughout. She has been fitted with new stock shocks and springs, new associated hardware and new rubber bushes throughout. New brake lines and fuel lines have also been fitted, so she stops as well as she goes. 

LOOKING GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE

Skylark stands out from the crowd thanks to her beautifully restored and refinished exterior.

She stands proud in her original colour of Arles blue, which is fantastically complimented by her tan coloured Exmoor Trim canvas Top and custom* cream Rostyle Steel Wheels.  A Colour-coded Heritage style front grill has also been fitted, along with colour-coded series style Headlight surrounds and genuine Land Rover Heritage Mud Flaps.

*Skylark has had a set of 2″ Banded Custom Steel wheels fabricated and painted to match the rest of the cream accents. The 2″ band makes for a deeper offset, which widens her track and allows for a thicker and more purposeful tyre to be fitted. As a result she now has stance with the style and swagger she deserves.

Skylark has had a beautiful Exmoor Trim, Tan Canvas, Soft Top fitted with brand new Galvanised Hood Frame and Hardware. The Arles Blue Body Work and Tan Canvas are truly a stunning combination, and as a result she turns heads where ever she goes. It is a versatile setup to. You can go warm and dry with the sides down,  you can enjoy the fresh air with the sides up, or you can go full summer beach mode with the whole Canvas removed and cruse around enjoying life to the max! The top half of the Front Doors can also be simply removed adding to the open air experience. 

When night comes Skylark will also have your back with new lights fitted all round.

LOOKING  EVEN BETTER ON THE INSIDE

The custom touches aren’t just reserved for SKYLARK’s Exterior, her interior is pretty special and unique too!

Custom Oak inserts, reclaimed and reused from a local Church on Dartmoor, line the rear load area and front seat box.  They give Skylark a real sense of style and luxury along with being extremely practical too. The unique wood touches don’t just finish there, a beautiful Heritage 3-Spoke Aluminium and Beech Wood Steering wheel has also been installed.

2 Original County Style Seats are up front with matching centre Cubby Box; and 2 rear Bench Seat with 4 lap belts have been installed in the rear. An Exmoor Trim, Front Seat Belt Soft Top Bar, has also been installed to allow for safer 3 point inertia Seat Belts to be installed.

Simplicity really is key!

STUCTURAL

Skylark isn’t just all about good looks, she also has the solid base to back it up.

An RCP rear 1/2 Chassis has been installed, and any other areas of concern on the chassis have been dealt with appropriately. Skylark’s chassis has then been cleaned and treated to a thorough course of rust proofing. As a result her Chassis is now in A1 condition, with little to no corrosion to speak of, ready for many more years of enjoyment.

Skylark has been treated to brand new “series style” front doors, with removable sliding windows, and all new associated hardware (Hinges, bolts, locks, latches, seals etc…). A Genuine Land Rover Rear Tailgate has also been fitted, along wire Genuine Mantec Spare Wheel Carrier.
